When you hear about the new “Hot Start” concept to be introduced to the Salomon Adventure Night events happening at the upcoming 2009 Pick and Pay Knysna Oyster Festival – you will be forgiven for thinking that Knysna based event organisers, Magnetic South have gone all soft on you.Participants entering the Petzl Night Run (4 July 2009) and the Capestorm Night Bike (5 July 2009) which form part of the Salomon Adventure Nights are in for more exciting challenges with the added benefit of being able to start and finish their night adventures in the absolute luxury of the prestigious Simola Golf & Country Estate.
Last year competitors experienced without doubt the hardest Night Run and the wettest Night Bike that turned the rural farm roads the route traversed into quagmires of mud and cow dung creating an epic experience that will never be forgotten.
“This year its going to be a case of being able to offer another spectacular option of routes for both the Petzl Night Run and Capestorm Night Bike as the location of the Simola Golf & Country Estate gives us so many unique and interesting variables in terrain. We have the intricate web of golf cart tracks that connect the entire Jack Nicklaus Signature Simola Golf Course, in addition to the mix of surrounding forests and valleys from which to choose our various routes !With the added pleasure of being able to offer all the participants hot showers and the luxury of being able to start and finish their race in the sublime comfort of the very upmarket Simola Golf Club this is guaranteed to take the edge off a cold winter night !” said Mark Collins, Race Director of Magnetic South, the event organisers.“Whose idea was this ? Would you believe it none other than the MD. Who says 5 Star establishments are exclusive – Simola Golf & Country Estate has positively embraced the wildest attendees of the Pick and Pay Oyster Festival, almost giving them free run of the place for the nights in question, this is Knysna hospitality at its very best. Securing leading adventure and sporting brand sponsors Salomon, Petzl and Capestorm for these events is also extremely exciting as the synergies fit perfectly with all the products on offer ” said Collins.Entries for the Salomon Adventure Nights ( Petzl Night Run and Capestorm Night Bike) are now open and there is a category available for everyone, from your hardcore racing athlete (Pro) to the novice weekend warrior (Open). In 2007 Magnetic South successfully introduced the Junior Category to its Adventure Nights concept making it possible for family orientated teams consisting of any number of combinations (parent and child or older sibling joining up with their younger one) to create the perfect bonding adventure together under the stars. Not to be missed with its own unique atmosphere plus having established a very passionate following since its introduction to the Festival in 2005. Enter now at www.magneticsouth.net. 504 words
