August 16th, 2008
The South African team USN – John Collins from Magnetic South, Martin Dreyer, winner of the Land Rover G4 Challenge in 2006, Ian Don-Wauchope and Jeannie Bomford – have won the 2008 Bull of Africa expedition adventure race, held in the Eastern Cape region of South Africa. It took them four-days and two-hours to complete the 600-kilometre course.
12 teams finished the Bull of Africa officially, amongst them 6 South African teams. Team Pennypinchers with team member Chris Crewdson also from Magnetic South managed to cross the finish line with 4 minutes spare to the cut-off.
Interestingly enough many of those athletes that entered this grueling 600 km adventure race also entered the Land Rover G4 Challenge Selection Process.
Magnetic South being the organisers of the Selection Process are convinced that the Bull of Africa was perfect preparation for Regional Selections that will start coming friday in the Karoo. Good luck to all the competitors!
