Triple your chances in the 2010 Salomon Featherbed Trail Run

March 9th, 2010

The 2010 edition of the sell out Salomon Featherbed Trail Run is going to blow your socks off. Go Multi Magazine classified it as the “Best New Cult Event of the Pick n Pay Knysna Oyster Festival” !

Following the 2008 introduction of this Trail Run Stunner as part of the Knysna Oyster Festival, Festinos have given the event a major thumbs up and it has been a SELL OUT two years on the trot. Venue hosts, The Featherbed Company, have responded to this swell of interest by extending this rare opportunity to increased numbers of participants and making more of their world class infrastructure available.

In 2009, due to the overwhelming demand, the event was extended to a Morning and Afternoon run; now in 2010, there are an amazing three opportunities available!

Morning Run – Run to the early morning rhythm of the dawning day. This pre-dawn start will include a well earned reward of Breakfast once back at the Finish Line.

Afternoon Run – Enjoy a morning holiday sleep in before embracing the multi-vistas of this trail run. Lunch will never have tasted so good.

Night Run – the NEW kid on the block. Your ferry trip across to the race start will leave as the sun sets over the Knysna Lagoon. Take in the sights of Knysna and the Featherbed Nature Reserve with your Petzl headlamp leading the way and you are in for an starlit adventure of note. Dinner awaits your return at the finish line.

Over and above the choice of three running times is the exciting new route that minimises tar roads and maximises trail-de-luxe. Heaps more single and jeep track are now part of the mix on both the 15 km Coelacanth or 11 km Seahorse routes, so grab your Salomons for the run of your life ! Views are spectacular as you criss-cross the top of the Western Head and make your way towards the now unused Chjoo Chjoo Railway line that traverses the Knysna Lagoon to bring you home to the Featherbed Ferry Terminus @ Cruise Café. Back to where your adventure originally started !!!

Magnetic South in keeping with its promise will open 2010 entries to last years participants first. This will take place at 12h00 (midday) on the 15 March 2010. (Last year’s participant’s will receive their personal passwords during the course of this week)
